Global Woman Entrepreneur Award – France
I’m absolutely delighted to be nominated for the Global Woman Entrepreneur Award and very grateful for your support.
I became a freelance bilingual virtual assistant after being made redundant from my job as PA and my mission is to make my clients’ lives easier. My clients include entrepreneurs, small companies and a charity both in France and abroad. I love running my own business, I’ve been able to do things that I never would have done as a salaried member of staff and I’ve grown massively. Every day brings new challenges including speaking at conferences and mentoring newer business owners and I embrace them.
I’m an active member of Anglopreneurs, English Speaking Mums in France and Mums Space France, three online Facebook groups which support expats in France.
I helped found and currently lead a British Girlguiding Unit near Disneyland Paris and also have a role at County level as County Secretary.
I’m involved in the parents’ associations of both my children’s schools, attending meetings and supporting events whenever possible.
I’m a happy wife and mum of two preteen children who keep me on my toes.
As if all that weren’t enough, I also have to manage my son’s type 1 diabetes, a life changing condition which makes us grateful for every day and brings the whole of my life into perspective. Fortunately it was diagnosed just as I was starting my business which has made it slightly easier.
I’ve been an active member of Global Woman Paris since it was started by my dear friend Connie and I love the opportunities it brings and the friends I’ve made.
I came to France 20 years ago and truly feel like a global woman so I’m so very grateful for this recognition.
